Even the newest developments in gear can fail when it’s trail-tested… especially in the harsh conditions on one of the United State’s most rugged trails.

I’d like to add a pillow. Never used one, always used a stuff sack. I’ve used both light and non porous rain gear. Still don’t know what my best option is. Non porous is heavy, need zippered pits for breath-ability. I like a free standing tent vs UL. We don’t talk about footprints. What are your thoughts? yay/nay? I use a Nemo pad under my air bed for protection and warmth.
I got one of those Zpacks pillow stuff sacks. It’s great until you realise you don’t need those extra clothes. Or if the extra clothes are for sleeping in.

Idea? If i stuffed my pillow into the Zack’s stuff sack along with whatever else to make pillow more plush. Just thinking out loud.
