The only item on the avoid list I have is the flexlite air chair. I essentially got it for “free” with $100 credit I got after using the REI credit card a couple of times outside of REI.
Both of the guys I backpack with have much more expensive chairs, and they are definitely better. But this chair weights about the same as theirs and for me the chair is perfectly ok. I read lots of negative things about this chair — balance issues, etc — but I imagine your mileage varies depending on a number of factors. As a 160ish lb 6’ guy it’s not been bad. I’ve used it for 2 years and have not been gentle with it. Not really experienced any balance issues and I plop down in it without care without issue. I do have a couple of holes from embers covered on both sides with tape, but the holes also haven’t stretched or expanded at all.
I may eventually replace it with something better, but it’s been good enough that I’ve prioritized improving/replacing/upgrading other gear before this item (and there are still several items ahead of it on my current list).
Thru hiked the AT in ‘18 with a Jetboil and would use it again. It’s still going strong so they are well built and last a long time, well worth the cost if you are serious about backpacking. If I’m in the middle of a thru hike and my cheaper stove quit I wouldn’t be happy about the money that I saved. Also Jetboil is the leader in the all-in-one design that they came out with so I’m always happy to spend a little bit more to the company that comes out with revolutionary ideas.
