Here’s the BEST Camera Gear I’ve used for Backpacking & Hiking over the past 10 years!

  1. I am looking at the Rode Lavalier with wind buff/diffuser/dead mouse 😂. I use Lumix M4/3 with a fast Summilux F1.8 9/18mm lens.

  2. One thing to remember with lenses, make sure it is weather sealed like water and dust proof along with the body 😊😊❤

  3. Hey Darwin, I’m an audio newb and wanting to get a small mic for recording ambient nature sounds while out hiking. Are you using the rode video micro 2 you mentioned in the video for that? Googling it suggests shotgun mics are not great for all round ambient sound recording (they’re more for voice and excluding sounds). But if it’s good enough for you, I’m sure it is fine! Thanks!

  4. Nice overview. Be interesting to know approx. weight of all your camera gear. I bet you’re adding 5-8 lbs to your other trekking gear. But as you say, you’re trying to get the best images and sound so worth it if you can manage the weight over long distances. 😊

  5. Hello, thank you for the good video about the video hiking gear. I Want to film some “amateur” videoblogs hiking in the mountains, I want good quality , is Action 6 a good device for this? Thank you!
